If you are a city person you will fall in love with Los Angeles like we did! But be prepare for minutes (maybe hours) in traffic jams in the city. It is always better to get up early and avoid those exposed times on highways.
We spent almost 5 days in the city, which we visited for the first time and this was our „visit list“. We wanted to live the vibe of Los Angeles as much as we could – so we promised ourselves to not be in a rush to see everything. We enjoyed ourselves just wandering around the different areas of L.A., took our time for coffees and just observed the everyday life of locals…

Dinosaur Coffee is a place for a great cup of coffee on your way to Universal Studios. Great for dinosaurs lovers! ;) They have the cutest mugs ever and amazing macrame on the wall.
Point Five Espresso Bar is not only a coffee place but they also serve amazing breakfasts with locally harvested produce used. Check out our blog post.
B. S. Taqueria was a modern Mexican restaurant in Downtown LA (oh my, parking here was…). Now the restaurant is permanently closed, but they open a new one called Broken Spanish.
Dune Venice was our go-to bistro near Venice Broadwalk. Sadly it is also permanently closed… But with the two other locations – in Atwater Village and Downtown. They served the best Hummus Plates ever! <3
Carrera Cafe is a touristy place on Melrose Ave with one of the famous walls murals. They also print any image on the foam layer of any coffee or tea beverage. We decided to go for „LA“ and „Hollywood“ :D
Great White in Venice is a minimalism casual cafe restaurant in Venice beach without a toilet :D So I was forced to use public terrifying bathrooms (Horizon Ave Public Rest Rooms) on the beach 200 meters away from the cafe. But the breakfast was nice :)
Griffith Observatory is a perfect place for sunrise or sunset! Or any other time during the day. Great views! Check out the post about our visit.
Lake Hollywood Park will be just a quick stop for taking a photo with a Hollywood sign :) Like we did!
Venice neighborhood – whether it is a Venice Beach, or Venice Canals or just streets like Abbot Kinney Blvd., these spots are must-see. It might seem to you a little „dirty“ around the beach for the first time – but that’s the charm of Venice Beach! On the other hand, Abbot Kinney Blvd is full of hipster cafes and bistros, trendy shops and cool people. (Whatever cool means… :D) Love it and we will visit this area again for sure :)
Pacific Park on Santa Monica Pier is a perfect place to have fun near the beach! Get a ride on Pacific Wheel – the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel with a panoramic view of the Southern California coastline.
Universal Studios is an even better place to have fun in! One day is NOT enough. Make sure to get there as early as possible. Early morning is the best time to start your adventure here.

On our next LA adventure we would like to see:
> For next visit of Abbot Kinney our plan is to shop in newly open Everlane store <3, get a cup of coffee at Blue Bottle Coffee (or Intelligentsia Coffee Coffeebar – wanna also buy this sweatshirt, mug #1 and mug #2) with a donut from Blue Star Donuts, and end our day with a takeaway from Gjelina Take Away.
> The parking garage on the corner of 9th and Broadway. It offers a great view of the downtown skyline from the easily accessible rooftop and we’ll get to see epic “Jesus Saves” neon backdrop in our frame.
> “Urban Light” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art aka LACMA, Paramount Ranch
> The Getty Villa, Bradbury Building, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Enis House,
> Jerome C. Daniel Overlook above the Hollywood Bowl, El Matador Beach, Secret Swing in Elysian Park
